TISAs 5th annual art exhibition Repurposed took place this week in Baku city. Involving 600 TISA students from 50 nationalities, all art exhibits included junk the students has collected and then turned into beautiful artwork. The opening event included a trashion show with 15 garments modelled by their creators, a junk band which played rhythms throughout the evening, interactive art creation and a silent auction whose proceeds will be used to fund recycling initiatives.

As educators today our responsibility for teaching and empowering our students into matters of social and environmental service learning is an increasingly important goal.  Helping children to develop a love and appreciation for the planet on which they live is an important part of what we do. Repurposed was conceived as an art show which would take our students one step further towards that realization.
Along with the TISA community we were excited to host the US ambassador, representatives from Azersun, IDEA and local artists.

With the collaboration of these organisations we have begun to develop recycling and food waste initiatives and environmental projects within TISA, Royal park and beyond….

Educating adults and children into

a) The opportunities for action and education which already exist
b) To  develop more recycling and waste management initiatives

We are proud to have been able to share with so many interested people our hopes, dreams and creativity.
