The TISA athletes, coaches and the community have opened the school's doors to the SRAA Football and Volleyball Tournament. SRAA (Silk Road Activities Association) is a group of schools from the region that compete in sporting activities, a local counterpart to a bigger CEESA framework. SRAA is one of the biggest events on TISA's sporting calendar, with 8 separate tournaments played on the brand new TISA Multipurpose Pitch and the Gymnasium Complex. This year, the tournaments were contested by TISA, QSI Tbilisi, Baku International School (BIS), British School of Baku (BSB), Baku Oxford School (BOS), New School Georgia (NS) and Caspian Associated. There were 4 divisions which were the Middle School Girls and Boys, and the High School Girls and Boys. Over the 3 days of competition each division had a worthy winner, with teams demonstrating great team skills, sportsmanship and attitude towards the game.
You can watch TISA TITANS going head-to-head with the biggest sporting teams in Baku and Georgia below:
The Senior Boys division has been interchangeably dominated by QSI and TISA for the past years. This time, QSI came out on top, edging out TISA and the NS to take the double crown of volleyball and football back home to Georgia. In the Senior Girls division, TISA and Caspian have taken home all the glory. We were witness to all-Caspian, all-TISA finals in both Volleyball and Football, both taking one piece of hardware, with the Caspian Senior Girls winning the Football and the TISA Senior Girls winning the Volleyball.
The Junior Boys division has been contested between TISA and QSI over the last couple years - and this year the tradition continued with TISA winning the Junior Boys' football and QSI the volleyball. That said, the TISA Junior Girls brought home both golds (football and volleyball), in an exhilarating display of skill and sportsmanship. The Sportsmanship Award was won by Caspian, a team which played with grace and camaraderie in the face of both victory and defeat.
