On Monday, M1 students of TISA had the opportunity to look beyond the fictional heroes considered in English class to a real hero in Azerbaijan, the three-time World Champion and two-time European Champion in Paralympic Taekwondo, Aynur Mammadova. During the meeting, Mrs. Mammadova, shared her personal experience on overcoming the barriers she faced in her personal life and in sports, and mentioned the importance of an equal attitude towards people with disabilities. Mrs Mammadova is not only a former sports champion but acts as the head of the public association "Integration into the Sport of Children and Youth with Disabilities. Last year, she supported our M1 student Nicolo on his project about making a prosthetic hand for children in need. At the end, students shared their impressions about the meeting.

We are honoured to have Ms Aynur Mammadova, Paralympic taekwondo champion, who is a national hero in many ways.

I felt inspired by Ms Aynur and think she is a great role model for kids with needs.

It was really inspiring and we all realized that you shouldn't feel sorry for the disabled. They might be even stronger than us."
